Ive added this sequence from the animation Paprika mainly out of interest. What has interested me about this particular animation is the interplay between reality and illusion.
The director Satoshi Kon often has this blending between both worlds to fabricate imaginative tales about dreams or media.
To me the opening sequence of Paprika is a compilation of scenes merged together to tell of the girls passage in a dream (or even separate dreams).
I would strongly urge people to watch this film or Kon's other work Millennium Actress in full.
**Warning: This bit has spoilers and is long (I would recommend you watch the whole film)
Also, on the note of montage I was thinking that many movie trailers are in a way a montage that condenses the films plot without spoiling the ending. Personally I find them entertaining to watch - well the good ones at least.
Here is an example of a movie trailer I just saw - the bit towards the end I found particularly relevant to the lecture last week. Im still unsure whether this overall classifies as a montage and whether or not it will offend someone (it is a controversial film after all) but Im hoping by throwing this out there another person will watch it and I will have someone to talk about it with :) !
