So I've been thinking since my last post (which to say the least wasn't that long ago) about the influence of music on a video, especially in a montage. Because the clips that i have chosen until now are all made up of smaller clips the music must mirror the speed and progression of the time. The rhythm of the music must suit the clips, the highs and lows, the beat and the overall feeling of the music help convey the message.

Two other videos that I found, one being a montage of separate images from Lost and the other being a dance montage from Scrubs. In both of these videos the soundtrack is extremely important in conveying a feeling to the audience. The Lost montage in particular, because it is essentially a slideshow the accompanying music really sets the seen, try listening to it with another song playing or even and perhaps more interestingly try listening to it with the sound off and see how much is lacking!

Ok, now back to the Scrubs clip. I've found two videos, both pretty much the same except for the music of course. Just as listening to the Lost clip without sound shows how much of an impact the music has on a clip so to does the change in music.

Song: Martin Sexton - Diner.

Song: Flo Rida (Feat. T-Pain) - Low.
