So I was in the last of the bunch to present my concept idea for the final project.
I finally decided on a work portfolio. I thought that this was a typical thing to do, but I am in need of one, and I know I would stay interested in it. Initially I wanted a video portfolio, where you could view clips of videos and learn about something? I wasn't really sure, but I knew that I didn't have enough videos of my own to make up enough content.
My work portfolio is going to be made up of my videos and my graphics that I've done. They're not the greatest works, so I'm going to be selective of things (showing only decent ones). Or I could make some, if I have time.
Basically, I don't want a whole website. I want everything to appear in that one screen. (but then I guess thats how flash works, it overlays things). So it will be like an image map. And all links will be seen on the screen.
I want to try to pull off an arty look. Not so much the traditional, 'heres a link'. But use images as links or reveal links when you scroll over things or images.
As my presentation showed, the visual style is a scrapbook/collage look. Using watercolours and overlaying images. I hope I can pull this off.
For interaction, my plans are being able to click on an object and have a window open in the center, where my video can play.
I also want my work to appear on the sides of the screen, (like photographs that have been scattered), and you can click on them, and they will enlarge. I also am planning to have all these objects scatter in the screen, as someone scrolls over them. So it appears as if they are shuffling through them. I don't know how hard this is going to be. I think very! But I'll have to see what scripts are available etc.
